Bitcraft's July Update: A Home Sweet Home and Helpful Hands
The July update for Bitcraft has arrived, bringing with it highly anticipated features like player housing and group crafting, alongside a host of bug fixes and quality-of-life improvements. Let's dive into the details of what awaits you in this exciting update!
Player Housing: A Place to Call Your Own
For many players, the ability to own and customize their own home is a long-awaited dream, and now it's finally here. You can purchase house deeds from Brico, unlocking the ability to establish your residence in various residential buildings. These buildings are located within ruined towns or within player settlements, offering a variety of locations to choose from.
Once you've secured your deed, it’s time to furnish your new abode. Unlock new furniture recipes from Brico and craft them using the newly added construction station. Arrange, rearrange—the furniture is completely customizable! Moving your house is also straightforward; if your house is empty, or if the new location is within the same claim, you can relocate instantly. Otherwise, there’s a short wait time.
This initial release offers a range of choices; 3 sizes of house deeds, 5 tiers of small residences in settlements, and 2 sets of furniture are available right now. More options are planned for the coming weeks, including larger residence structures.
Keep in mind that while settlement and empire permissions are temporarily disabled due to some bugs, the team is working hard to reinstate them.
Group Crafting: Teamwork Makes the Dream Work
This update introduces a game-changer: group crafting. Now you can initiate crafting projects even if you lack the required level or tools, as long as you allow others to assist. This opens up a world of collaborative gameplay opportunities:
- Team up with others at a crafting station to help each other out and gain extra experience.
- Enlist the aid of an expert to craft your tool upgrades, ensuring quality and avoiding potential scams.
- Pool resources and collaborate on large-scale crafting projects.
The crafting system is still under development, but this initial implementation alone has sparked excitement within the community. Get ready for even more collaboration-focused updates in the future!
Other Notable Changes and Bug Fixes
Beyond the major additions, this update includes a variety of other changes:
- Writs as Cargo: Writs are now considered cargo, a change intended to refine the gameplay mechanics and reduce unintended usage in town establishment.
- Settlement Expansion: High-tier settlements can now expand more affordably, making building larger housing districts more manageable.
- Empire Renaming: Empires can now change their names.
- Onboarding Improvements: The onboarding process has been updated to highlight WASD controls and get players into the adventure quicker.
- Bug Fixes: Numerous bugs have been addressed, including issues with the marketplace UI, item drop chances, tree placement, recipes, Scrofas, WASD movement, wall corner posts, resource respawn, camera panning, cooking recipes, Lusul animation, and settlement map markers.
