New Homestead Map and Quality-of-Life Features Announced
ArenaNet has unveiled Comosus Isle, a new homestead map for Guild Wars 2 players who own the Visions of Eternity expansion. This tropical island setting offers a private retreat with sandy beaches, palm trees, and a central mountain infused with ley-line energy. The announcement, made on September 3, 2025, includes several quality-of-life improvements aimed at enhancing the homestead experience for all players with access to the Janthir Wilds expansion.
Comosus Isle serves as a customizable vacation home, featuring a three-story house constructed from an overturned ship. The structure includes a sitting area, dining space, kitchen, bedroom, and a balcony with ocean views. Players can remove the house and its decorations to redesign the island entirely, storing items in their decoration inventory for future use.
A key addition is the decoration layout feature, which allows players to save and share furniture arrangements via XML files. This system enables quick swaps between seasonal themes or different homestead setups. When loading a layout, the game only places decorations the player owns, providing a list of missing items for crafting. Players can also save layouts from visited homesteads if the owner enables Party Layout Saving.
Another improvement is the Place Duplicate skill, added to the Modify Existing Decorations mode. This tool simplifies alignment when building structures like walls or fences by using an existing decoration as a guide. Players can position a decoration, use Place Duplicate instead of Confirm Modification, and place a new instance if available in storage.
These features will be demonstrated in a livestream on September 5, 2025, at noon Pacific Time on the official Twitch channel. Comosus Isle is exclusive to Visions of Eternity owners, while the quality-of-life updates are available to all Janthir Wilds players with homestead access.
